Saratoga Springs The city Police Department has seen an 11 percent drop in the number of calls it responded to this racing season, compared to last year, Public Safety Commissioner Thomas Curley said.
Curley credited the city's efforts in meeting earlier this year with bar and restaurant owners to contributing to reduced calls for police assistance.
``We're answering less calls. All in all, I'm very happy,'' Curley said.
``While all people look at bigger numbers as better, our numbers when they go down are better,'' Curley told City Council Tuesday night.
