To Alameda residents, business owners, and organizationsinterested in the future of Alameda Point:
In our efforts to move ahead with the reuse and redevelopment ofAlameda Point, the city of Alameda is hosting a series of threeissue-specific workshops in the next two months.
These workshops build on the important community comments andsuggestions that the community provided at the 2010 community "GoingForward" workshops and will serve as an important next step inbuilding a plan for Alameda Point.
On May 18, the city will host a "Webinar" at 6:30 p.m. in theCity Council Chambers on the financial basics of Alameda Point.
This web-based workshop is designed to inform and educate thecommunity about the costs associated with redeveloping Alameda Pointand how the financial pro forma works -- from the comfort of yourown home.
This web-based educational workshop will introduce the communityto the major infrastructure improvement costs (streets, sewer,drainage, flood control, transportation etc.) required to redevelopAlameda Point in compliance with federal, state and localregulations and provide a dedicated funding source to meet ongoingmaintenance service standards.
The city also will illustrate how a basic financial pro formaworks, including ways to measure financial feasibility of a project.
Participants may attend in person at the Alameda City CouncilChambers, 2263 Santa Clara Ave., third floor, or from a homecomputer or other Internet-capable device.
