Cohoes A state arbitrator on Tuesday heard arguments in a case against a city police officer accused of failing to act on a drug deal being arranged in his presence.
The officer has been suspended with pay since early August when he allegedly ignored a drug deal being arranged by a relative with an undercover investigator from another law enforcement agency.
The accused officer was off duty at the time he is alleged to have witnessed the transaction being arranged. His identity has not been officially released pending the outcome of the hearing.
