On a recent morning walk, I noted that summer's green was progressively succumbing to the red, rust, gold and orange of autumn.
Stopping abruptly, I was almost shocked at the vibrancy of some trumpet-shaped morning glories climbing up a weathered fence along the road, ascending toward the sun in shades of cool china blue that contrasted starkly against the backdrop of foliage. There in the midst of heart-shaped leaves and flowers, a butterfly clung, freshly emerged from its chrysalis and delicately stretching its wings.
