NORTH'S BIG FIRST HALF CHILLS THE SOUTH.(SPORTS)

LATHAM The weather reminded people of the North Pole and that made things just right for the North team in Wednesday night's Exceptional Senior football game at Shaker High.

The North scored 18 first-half points and went on to defeat the favored South team 25-14 before close to 2,000 fans.

``It was a little rough going early in the game, but you got a little used to it after awhile,'' said South running back E.J. Graham of Glens Falls.

The South didn't get used to the slippery footing until late in the game. By then, the North had things pretty well in hand.
